William Sanford has been a photographer since he was 8 years old when his best friend gave him a Rolleiflex camera.

He started shooting photos of the world around him, including portraits, and discovered he was also comfortable in front of the camera.

While modeling in Miami when he was 18, he caught the eye of Elite Models who asked him to test in New York. They signed William and sent him to Milan, Paris, and London to work with Fendi, Italian Vogue, Richard Avedon, Paul Smith, Bruce Weber, and many others.

Because of his classic American looks, Sanford spent the next years modeling with legendary European photographers and designers on high profile campaigns all over the world.

He remembers one famous designer in particular: “One day I was running late for a Giorgio Armani audition. I got to the building and buzzed for the doorman. A man opens the door and I ask in Italian where I have to go for the audition. He starts saying, ‘Armani, Armani’, motioning to see the portfolio I was carrying. I start telling him, ‘I don’t have time right now, i’m late... I need to find Giorgio Armani for my audition, where can I find him?’ We go around like that for a while, when I suddenly realized he’s actually saying, ‘sono Giorgio Armani, sono Armani,’ which means, ‘I am Giorgio Armani!’ Turns out it was Giorgio himself who answered the door, and he ended up booking me for his campaign.”

Sanford snapped photos of everything he saw while traveling around the world: exotic locations, working crews, beautiful people, actors, musicians, nightlife - whatever was in front of him. This is where he developed his unique style.

After many years in front of the camera observing, and learning from Avedon, Weber, Watson, and Scavullo, he knew it was time to forge his own path influenced by these master photographers. He relocated to Los Angeles, and started shooting what he knew best: fashion, models, celebrities, and actors.

He continues to work with top advertising agencies, and celebrities in the entertainment, and fashion world through his company, HIP Productions. and “Stalkarazzi.tv is a new satire. 1 hour tv pilot about .”One mans struggle in a world of dirty laundry, the underbelly of the paparazzi.

Looking forward to seeing you on set.
